FOR BETTER DAYS COUNSELLING
-
What can I expect in my first session? No preparation is needed for the first session! I will orient you to the online counselling video application. We will review the counselling process together (confidentiality, therapist background, what brings you to counselling) and address any questions you may have.
-
How does confidentiality work in counselling?Confidentiality is held to the highest regard in my practice. Everything that is said before, during, and after session will not be communicated to anyone without your written consent. I will not disclose your affiliation with my practice in any way without your written consent. All online sessions are encrypted, and password coded. There are four instances where I may need to breach confidentiality. Those are: If you’re going to hurt yourself or someone else If I suspect or you disclose neglect/abuse involving a vulnerable person or child When your records are subpoenaed by court order If there is a medical emergency in session, I will contact emergency services on your behalf should you be unable to respond.
-
Are counselling sessions covered by insurance?Depending on your current health insurance provider or employee benefit plan, it is possible for services to be covered in full or in part. Please contact your provider to verify whether they cover Registered Clinical Counsellors (RCCs) and how your plan compensates you for counselling services. Currently, I do not directly bill insurance companies.
-
How can I pay?I accept cash, e-transfer, or credit card payments.
-
What is your cancellation policy? To allow for other clients to schedule into busy time slots, I ask that you contact me as soon as possible when you are unable to make a session. If you need to cancel within less than 48 hours of your appointment, the full session fee will be charged to ensure fairness for you, your therapist, and other clients.
